What type of artist I see in me
I have no type: there are no boxes. I am, I said. (a little Neil for ya) I think music should be less segregated. I love artists like Dan Bern and Ani DiFranco who push outside boundaries. It feels like if anyone puts a country blues song and a soft acoustic song on an album together, they're lumped into "Folk." I'm not a folk musician. I'm a musician. Let's stop boxing things up - music isn't served in little cardboard shrinkwrapped boxes on major airlines, so let's stop selling it like that.
